GRADES 3 TO 6 – MEET THE ORCHESTRA
THE COMPOSER IS DEAD
Written by Lemony Snicket, Composed by Nathaniel Stookey
This intriguing concert follows the investigation of a murdered composer. Someone is guilty of killing the composer, but who is it? All the musicians appear to have a motive and all seem to have an alibi. Could it be the violins? Did anyone see the harpist? Are the trumpets protesting too much? But the composer is still dead.
More information about the concert on the MSO website.

Learn Music on Ping
During Terms three and four, 2010 you and your classroom can participate in a unique online learning experience. Focussing on singing, junk percussion, creative composition tasks and sharing the outcomes of these through the social network at pingmusic.com.au. Ping takes an innovative approach to online education. The emphasis will be on student centred, self-directed learning, with activities and tutorials presented in video, podcast and written formats.
To participate in this part of Ping you will need to attend a one day professional development session on 4 June 2010 at The Song Room, Abbotsford convent, Melbourne.
Ping can provide a teaching artist who can come to your classroom to help deliver the project. However due to the high demand, we can’t provide this to every school.
MSO Regional schools workshops
As part of the classroom project, schools can attend MSO regional education concerts at a subsidised rate. MSO regional tour dates listed on the MSO website.
